Services

Primarily I enjoy teaching, but I am available for commission work if the project is interesting. I also have an embroidery business called DW Embroidery. If you’re interested in custom garment decoration, check out that website once I finish moving it.

Sewing Education

I’ve been sewing since I was 13 and taken formal sewing and pattern making instruction within the Fashion Design and Merchandizing department at Santa Monica College. I was a full-time sewing instructor for 2 years as well as a sewing machine saleswoman. I’ve taught all kinds of classes and am available to as both a classroom instructor for special projects, series or as a one-on-one tutor. See my Education page for full details.

Commission Work

I’ve done work for theater, living theater, historical re-enactment and cos-play. I’ve also made things for both human and animal, as well as decorative pieces. My commission work is dependent more on the interesting-factor of the project. I prefer challenging, unique pieces which ask me to be not only technically proficient but creative in how the design is executed. This Victorian-esque butterfly-tail double-breasted jacket in a thick, loose-weave wool is exactly the kind of things I really enjoy. Contact me for availability.
