Gift Art Quilt In Progress

I have a number of projects currently in the pipeline.

The single biggest project is the close to a dozen Renaissance garments by October. We’re in the planning stages of exactly what needs to be made, but first that means breaking out what we’ve already got and assessing it. Not doing real well making the time for that…

There is one remaining white cashmere vest to be made for the hubby. My personal goal is to get this finished by the end of February. Once that one is done, I’ll do a post-mortem of all 5. I’ve learned a great deal about pressing wool, the effect of interfacing on the drape of the finished garment, and I’ve gotten sooooo much better at double-welt pockets!

There is another project which I can’t talk too much about because it’s a gift. I’m trying to figure out EQ7 so that I can use to create the foundational template for this art quilt. I’ve already done the graphic design. Now to get it pieced, and then sized. I have some idea for textures on this quilt that I’m very excited to try. The only part of the design that frustrates me is that I’m not a master of the many and sundry softwares that I have and I don’t use any of them enough to become awesome at them. But I have to get quilt completely finished by June. And time is running out!!

Once I get that one done, there’s a Christmas present art quilt which I’ve got the design for in my head. Again, I won’t be able to share too much in the way of status reports and what did/didn’t work in the various pieces until the whole thing is done and given.

Anyhoo. Off to see what I can learn about EQ7!!
